Needless to say, we were delighted with all the Shop Local supporters, but we were also delirious due to the Christmas rush. Our obsession with Stevie Nicks, and what she would do, began last Christmas, when we were rushed off our feet with customers, orders and making the shop look presentable. If you know anything about us as a team, you probably know that we’re constantly coming up with really terrible jokes, and then telling them until they go from funny, to not funny, and then back to funny again.
This time I went for shades of blue and added in a pop of yellow to stand in for the gold foil that would’ve been used in religious iconography. This didn’t really mesh with the tongue in cheek, modern style I was going for though, so I reworked the colours again. Originally I’d taken inspiration from religious renaissance paintings, using deep blues and reds. Right next to Abba, she’s one of our go-to artists for a musical pick-me-up. Needless to say, we’re all huge Stevie Nicks fans over here at Born and Bred.
